What is proxy server? Proxy server is one that acts on behalf of another server, usually for Web related purposes. Proxy server is a type of firewall. It intercepts all messages entering and leaving the network. The proxy server can effectively hide the true network addresses and keep the keep machines behind it anonymous mainly for security reasons (so it is a part of firewall) and it speeds up access to a resource by caching. What is Open Proxy? An open proxy is a proxy server that is accessible by any Internet user. What is Caching Proxy Server Caching proxies keep local copies of frequently requested resources, allowing large organizations to significantly reduce their upstream bandwidth usage and cost. A proxy that focuses on World Wide Web traffic is called a “web proxy”. The most common use of a web proxy is to serve as a web cache. Firewall/Proxy Server Practical: Locate an open proxy and then configure your Browser to use this Open proxy for connecting to Internet. Also prove that all the Internet traffic from your PC passes through this open proxy server. Steps involved: Go to proxy4free.com or xroxy.com and note down the ip address and port number of an open proxy. Goto ip-address.com (not ip-address.com). It will show the real ip and your country and city. Note down this information. Open Internet Explorer , Go to Tools , Internet Options , Connections , LAN settings. Select the Checkbox with the label “Use a Proxy Server for your LAN” Enter the IP address and …

    To ping an IP address. Go to start and type run. type CMD and enter. In the command line type ping space and the IP address. For example.. ping 192.168.10.101

    Hi i need help…I have 2 computers, a laptop and a desktop. Lately my laptop has more ping than the desktop espically on my online games..I confirmed this by playing the online game called s4 and i created a room for my 2 computers…my laptop has more ping and for som reason beside the ping mark there (R) (T)..so im wondering if my laptop has a different IP Adresss?

    you mostly need proxies outside of your house, i.e school, work place and so on. A good admin should have disable the configuration of advance settings. So no way you can use something like this…unless you install (or in usb) another browser like Firefox.
